Its finally here, Sony Mobile Malaysia has made available the flagship Xperia XZ and premium Xperia X Compact with preorder on 11th Street from today till 4th October. The XZ will retail at RM 2,699, while the X Compact will retail at RM 1,999
Getting X-cited
We would agree there are other options at similar price range like the P9 Plus or Galaxy S7 which are dominating the top end range with now iPhone joining the fray. Xperia’s have been seeing declining market share for years, so whats so different this time around? How are the XZ and X Compact change the fortunes for Sony? For one, is the new cameras.
No More Blur Pictures
Maximising Sony’s acclaimed image sensor, two additional assisting sensors have been added to make Sony’s triple image sensing technology. This allows in capturing images while in motion and produce blur free images, made possible with a blend of autofocus speed with Predictive Hybrid AF that can predict and track subjects. The Laser AF sensor with distance sensing technology adds to the layer and provides blur free in even low light conditions.
The 23MP main camera reloads in 6 seconds, with manual controls found in regular camera like shutter speed and focus control. For video buffs, Sony has introduced its Handycam elements to the phones like steadyshot, a 5 axis stabilisation for smoother videos when walking or capturing extreme close-ups.
Xperia XZ provides a 13MP front camera for the selfie shots, and a high sensitivity of ISO6400 and with a 24mm wide angle lens it works well in low-light and group selfies.
All this just on the imaging! Would this convince everyone to dash out and buy the XZ or the X Compact, maybe not, but there will be loyalists and those who value the quality cameras Sony builds, used in many OEM models.
