We’re moving to a new home – is the final post from Lenovo Mobile Malaysia; this acts as a parting note, FAQ, and confirmation that there will be no new Lenovo smartphones arriving.

Of course, that’s for legal channels only. Also, from now on, only new Motorola devices will reach Malaysia.

The move, which will halt new Lenovo smartphones from entering Malaysia, also includes the deactivation of its online platforms; namely the Lenovo Mobile Facebook page, Instagram, and website.

According to the last Facebook post, its social media sides will shut down on February 15 2018. The website will go next in a few months time.

Current Lenovo smartphones present in the market now will still be available at all dealers and outlets nationwide. This is the same for the official store on Lazada. All accessories and spare parts will also be available for all Lenovo mobile devices. This includes service support and device warranty.

The move, by the looks of it, is to ensure Lenovo can better manage its supply chain. This will also help with optimising its smartphone business.

This sharpening of focus hints at what may will the coming months be like for Motorola.
