New Hanzo Won’t Be In Next Overwatch League Stage

It’s quite common for developers to update their games at different times for normal players and the pro scene. One such game is Overwatch. The massively popular Overwatch League enters the next stage in the tournament, but won’t have the new Hanzo for now.

New Hanzo

Blizzard doesn’t update Overwatch League alongside the live servers. Blizzard usually don’t implement major changes made before a new stage. They do this to ensure matches are played under the same conditions and prevents players having to suddenly adapt to changes in hero balance. Brigitte for example wasn’t available for Stage 3 of Overwatch League; this is despite her entering the roster before Stage 2 ended.

As such, Hanzo’s recent rework that saw his Scatter replaced with Storm Shot won’t be in Stage 4 of Overwatch League. The new Hanzo also got a new Lunge ability, with the rest of his kit receiving minor tweaks.

Brandon ‘Seagull’ Larned of Dallas Fuel already mentioned that Stage 4 of the league won’t have the new Hanzo. Overwatch League analyst Josh ‘Sideshow’ Wilkinson confirms the speculation, saying that Seagull was correct.

On top of that, Blizzard won’t be including the nerfs to Brigette in Stage 4 of Overwatch League.
