Netflix, a very well-known streaming services site are under attack from hackers as reported by Symantec. Hackers steal valuable information from Netflix’s users and trade it onto the black market for a very cheap price. A popular malware known as “banload” steals banking information from affected computers and has primarily been used in Brazil. The files are said to be downloaded by users who may have been tricked by fake advertisements of free or cheaper access into Netflix.

Aside from delivering malware, attackers may target Netflix users by attempting to steal their login credentials through phishing campaigns. Netflix subscriptions allow between one and four users on the same account. This means that an attacker could piggyback on a user’s subscription without their knowledge, said Symantec.

Symantec also advises users to only download Netflix from official accounts and update their security systems on their computers.
