In celebration of Merdeka and National Day, Netflix, the world’s leading internet entertainment service, is showcasing Bebas Bersama Netflix with its diverse offering of Malaysian content for viewers around the world. With the addition of Polis Evo I, Polis Evo 2, Fly By Night and Till Death: Azalea’s Wrath this month, there is plenty of quality Malaysian content on the service to stream and watch. And honestly, that’s a pretty cool thing of Netflix to do, considering that content from Malaysia isn’t as recognised as others, and with this, hopefully that changes.

Polis Evo, starts streaming August 26
Directed by Ghaz Abu Bakar, Police Evo stars Shaheizy Sam, Zizan Razak and Nora Danish in the lead roles. A blockbuster buddy cop action comedy film, the story centres around a well-mannered local cop who must team up with his steely, determined counterpart to bring down a ruthless drug kingpin.
Polis Evo 2, starts streaming August 26
Hot off the heels of its predecessor, Polis Evo 2 brings back action comedy duo Shaheizy Sam and Zizan Razak, backed by popular Indonesian actress Raline Shah in this action packed film. In this sequel, Officers Sani and Khai defy extreme odds to rescue civilian hostages from a ruthless, armed group operating on a remote island.
Fly By Night, starts streaming August 21
Director, Zahir Omar presents his gritty crime drama starring Sunny Pang, Fabian Loo, Eric Chen, Jack Tan and the inimitable Bront Palarae. Set in the heart of a bustling metropolis, Tai Lo runs a profitable con-game with his fellow taxi drivers as accomplices, including his younger brother Sai Lo. Tai Lo keeps his nefarious scheme small, blackmailing selected wealthy passengers that they pick up at the airport.
When he brings ex-convict Ah Soon – his late policeman-father’s former accomplice – into the game, it upsets the hot-headed Sai Lo who has been dreaming of bigger schemes for bigger profits. The ambitious Sai Lo then teams up with another of their gang member, Gwai Lo, to carry out an extortion of their own, all without Tai Lo’s knowledge. But Sai Lo’s plan goes awry, and unbeknownst to all of them, Inspektor Kamal, a hard nosed cop prone to brutal violence, is on to them.

Till Death: Azalea’s Wrath, now streaming
Starring renowned actors, Khir Rahman, Vanidah Imran and Nam Ron, Till Death: Azalea’s Wrath is Sein Qudsi’s second horror film to date since he co-directed Bangunan in 2015 alongside Rahman, who plays the lead in both movies. This horror film tells the story of a couple who just lost their baby due to complications during childbirth moves to a new house to start fresh. Little do they know, the house carries a dark secret and their journey of hardships have only just begun.
“Fellow Malaysians are getting to watch this film firsthand on Netflix which is something I consider as special as the film has never been screened anywhere else. I hope to continue working with Netflix to create more engaging content in the future. Simply put, this is the future.” said Sein Qudsi, the writer, director and producer of Till Death: Azalea’s Wrath.
