The Malaysia Competition Commission has found MyEG guilty for committing offences under the Competition Act 2010 which promotes healthy competition among service providers and producers in the country.

Competition Appeal Tribunal has hereby imposed a whopping RM9,464,700 fine further dampening the already depleted stock price of the company. This was in result of after the application of judicial review by the High Court rejected MYEG on 22 January 2019, the Commission had instructed its solicitors to demand compliance with the order correction, this will also result is a daily penalty of  RM7,500.00 until MYEG complies with the direction set by the courts. This accumulation is the eventual result of the total penalty.

MyCC is the primary competition authority responsible the safeguarding the competition process in Malaysia. The Act is in place to prevent such bad activity and instead looks to stimulate productivity and innovation, thereby creating more product or service selection to consumers at better quality and at a reasonable price.

It is empowered by the Competition Act 2010 to investigate any abuse by dominant players or monopoly in the market. The agency is prepared to take all actions deemed necessary to ensure MyEg’s compliance with the directive.
