The first mobile phone company to announce the latest device from Mobile World Congress is a South Korean tech giant and no its not Samsung but next door rival LG.
Boldest and bravest yet, the new LG G5 will be the first modular smartphone from LG in what you can see on the top picture shown, the battery and the bottom can be removed and attached with a camera that will offer full functions of a compact camera called Cam Plus and other add ons. Along with other friends as what they were being called, accessories that come along is a 360 cam and the first virtual reality headset that it claims is not as clunky as a certain gear, obvious reference to Samsungs VR Gear.
As for the G5 the smartphone is a modest 5.3 inch device with IPS Quantum display with Quad HD screen that offers amazing sharpness, the screen is also slightly curved at the edges. Fans will be glad to know that the G5 is finally all metal, camera sensors are 16 and 8 megapixel respectively. At the heart of the phone is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset and 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM that powers this device up. Battery life can be significantly expanded with a sliding add on.
What we have seen like the most, is the new friend LG has relationship with..Bang & Olufsen, the world class audio brand is collaborating with LG to fit a modular LG Hi-Fi Plus to give users an amplified experience.
Its crazy looking now with LG upping the ante on what a smartphone can be used for, Malaysia is yet to see the return of mobile devices from the company but G5 looks really promising in winning the fans over and give its home rival a run for the money.
Stay tuned as we bring more updates from Barcelona.
