The Ministry of Finance has issued a stern warning against a fraudulent scheme circulating on Telegram claiming that free financial aid of RM1,000 will be credited to MyKad holders.

In a tweet posted today at 10:31 AM, the ministry unequivocally declared the information as false and urged the public to exercise caution and avoid falling victim to such deceptive news.

The misleading message, which falsely alleges that the Ministry of Finance is depositing free aid directly into MyKad accounts, has been spreading on the messaging platform.

Authorities are cautioning individuals not to be easily deceived by such claims and, most importantly, to refrain from clicking on any uncertain links associated with the fraudulent scheme.

The Ministry of Finance emphasised the importance of verifying information through official channels and cautioned against sharing unconfirmed news.

The public is urged to visit the official portal and follow the verified social media channels of the Ministry of Finance for accurate and up-to-date information.

As scams and misinformation continue to proliferate, the Ministry of Finance’s proactive stance serves as a reminder for the public to exercise vigilance and rely on verified sources to avoid falling prey to fraudulent schemes.

Authorities are working to debunk false information promptly and advise citizens to report any suspicious activities to relevant authorities.
