San Diego Comic-Con is kicking off with a bang with some news about our favourite web-slinger. The people at Insomniac Games held a panel during the convention. As part of it, they showed off the latest story trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man for the PlayStation 4.
As you’ll see in the trailer, events in the city begin to escalate as the SInister Six run loose. The trailer also provides a first look at Insomniac’s original take on Silver Sable, a longtime anti-hero popularized in the pages of the Amazing Spider-Man.
In this game, Norman Osborn is the Mayor of New York City who is on a re-election run. As chaos ensues, he hires Silver Sable and her mercenary organisation to restore order to the city, which unfortunately includes stopping Spider-Man.
We also catch a glimpse of Spider-Man, MJ, and Miles Morales together for the first time. Insomniac states that one of the game’s themes is partnership, and this moment drives in how Spider-Man relies on his friends. Perhaps we’ll even see Miles Morales take up the on the role for Peter Parker at some point.
Apart from that, Insomniac also reveals the final mystery suit for the Spidey Suit pre-order pack. The Velocity Suit is an original costume for the game created by acclaimed Iron Man artist Adi Granov. It joins the Spider-Punk and Iron Spider suits for a total of three bonuses. Don’t feel pressured to pre-order for these though, as you’ll still be able to earn these suits in-game.
Instead, you might want to think of pre-ordering for the exclusive Spider-Man PS4 theme designed by Adi Granov. Finishing touches are still being made, but here’s a peek at the art being used.
Last but not least, you may also be interested in Marvel’s Spider-Man Limited Edition PS4 Pro in Amazing Red. With 1TB of storage, it sports an incredible design which features the iconic spider icon emblazoned on Spider-Man’s Advanced Suit in the game.
