Another day, another data breach. This time around it’s Malaysia-based Malindo Air that’s been hit, and boy what a hit it’s looking to be. The budget airline and its Indonesian parent company Lion Air are the latest victim in a data breach that has resulted in the personal data of millions of passengers being leaked.
The leak reportedly consists of passenger passport details, home addresses, passport expiry dates and phone numbers. The company are yet to be able to confirm exactly how many people are affected but i’m pretty sure it’s a lot of people.
The company has put out a statement and it reads:
I for one am sick and tired of hearing about data breaches. You would think that for all the announcements that companies make about employing the latest in technology, they would also beef up their cybersecurity. It’s just pure negligence. It’ll be interesting to hear how Malindo bounces back from this one.
