Upon his arrival at Kuching, Sarawak the Malaysian Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, welcomed the Vice President of Indonesia, Bapak Prof. Dr (Hc). K. H. Ma’ruf Amin. The diplomatic meeting aimed at fortifying ties and discussing crucial matters between the two neighboring countries.

Upon arrival, the leaders delved into discussions ranging from investments and trade to Indonesian labor. Both parties expressed a shared commitment to promptly resolving emerging issues that involve the two countries.

One of the focal points of the meeting was the issue of Palestine. Vice President Bapak Ma’ruf Amin brought to light the unfortunate evacuation of the Indonesian Hospital in Gaza due to attacks by the Zionist regime of Israel. Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim took the opportunity to reiterate his firm stance on the matter, citing a joint statement made with President Jokowi during the APEC 2023 summit in San Francisco.

Bapak Ma’ruf Amin also praised the strengthened and stable MADANI government and expressed optimism about the future, hoping that Malaysia and Indonesia would continue to progress together.

He commended Malaysia’s robust governance and expressed his hopes for a harmonious future for both nations. The leaders jointly prayed for the continued flourishing of relations, bringing about benefits for the citizens of Malaysia and Indonesia alike.
