PLKN 3.0: “Are Malaysians getting ready for war?”

Following the announcement of the latest update of the National Service Training Programme (PLKN), known as PLKN 3.0, that targets Malaysian youths between the ages of 16 and 35, Malaysians started to come up with various assumptions and jokes.

Defense Minister, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan mentioned that the program is a two-phase approach program. Scheduled to take place at the schools, form 4 students are the targeted participants for the first phase of the program.

Meanwhile, the SPM students are exempted from PLKN 3.0 to let them focus on the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM).

For Phase 2, it will target the SPM graduates. The second phase will extend its duration for 45 days, and focus on the fundamental military training.

Following these arrangements, Malaysians keep on imagining the communication that will occur in between the participants of different generations (such as between a 19 years-old and 34 years-old participants).
