The much anticipated consumer launch of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge finally launched on the 17 April 2015, with customers who pre-ordered flocking to the Samsung Experience store in Gardens Midvalley. Samsung reps excitedly announced that global demand exceeded their expectations, with the 20 million units worldwide available for pre-order snapped up in short order; the Galaxy S6 Edge Gold Platinum edition was the more popular choice for Malaysian consumers.

Lee Jui Siang, Vice President, Mobile, IT and Digital Imaging, Samsung Malaysia Electronics, opened the launch by thanking the Samsung customers that were lining up to collect their pre-ordered devices.

“We are pleased to announce the availability of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge in Malaysia nationwide starting from today. We are confident that Malaysians love the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge as we received a high number of participants for the “I want #myGalaxyS6” hunt that concluded recently. In addition to that, we launched the first ever pre-order sales for the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge and we were amazed at the reception for these two revolutionary smartphones. We are excited to announce that the Gold Platinum Galaxy S6 edge is sold out but we are restocking quickly to meet the demand from our consumers,” he said.

Also present at the launch was Dato’ Lee Chong Wei, brand ambassador for Samsung Electronics Malaysia, who gave away exclusive signed racquets at meet-and-greet for Samsung fans.
