ITS 2019 AND BAGS HAVE FLEXIBLE AMOLED SCREENS NOW!!
Yes. Welcome to the future, friends. There seems to be an obsession with flexible screens these days and it’s really starting to show. What started in 2011 with Samsung’s first prototype 4.5 inch flexible AMOLED display has now morphed into what I can only describe as a spectacle of needlessness. I mean, yeah foldables are cool, somewhat practical and the logical next step in smartphone design but luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton, in typical Louis Vuitton fashion, is going the extra mile.
In what seems like the direct result of an in-house meeting to discuss even more ways the brand can distance itself from the hoi polloi, Louis Vuitton has introduced a set of handbags that feature built-in flexible displays, which they claim are AMOLED and have a 1,920 x 1,440 resolution. Fancy.

Clearly not content with being name dropped on literally every rap song to ever exist, the company flaunted two prototype handbags during LV’s Cruise 2020 runway show in New York City This week: One with a single screen and another with two screens, in case just the one is too basic for your liking.
Hahahahaha why?
The Italian luxury brand told Engadget that the prototype bags are “the basis for reconsidering the digital Canvas of the Future,” adding that it is “always in search of the fusion of savoir-faire and innovation.”
Well, thats avant-garde AF. Also, I don’t even know what savoir-faire is so.. Jokes on you LV!
To be fair, there is no confirming that these prototypes will ever make it past its development stage. If they do though, you can rest assured they’ll cost two arms and a leg, which is ironic because having arms is kind of a prerequisite for bag carrying.
I can already imagine all the LV disciples trying to rationalize this one.
“I mean pfft, come on.. it was never gonna be cheap to have the luxury of using Instagram on your bag, ok? Plus scrolling through the gram on your smartphone is SOO 2018. Didn’t you hear? Bags are the new tablets! If you can’t afford it, just be basic and scroll through the gram on your phone, peasant!! LV is really pushing the boundaries of fashion ok?
