Lim Guan Eng has come out and expressed DAP’s support for Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, fully backing the former Prime Minister and announced plans to propose to the Pakatan Harapan presidential council during its emergency meeting tonight that Dr Mahathir Mohamad be nominated again as prime minister.

The Finance Minister cleared the air on what has happened today, claiming that Tun Mahathir has decided to resign due to the nefarious actions of certain people within other political parties to try and form a “backdoor government” with Umno and PAS. According to Guan Eng, Tun Mahathir has made it clear that he does not intend to work with Umno after fighting so hard to topple the corrupt party back in the 2018 General Elections.

Lim Guan Eng even went as far as to compare the current political situation that’s unfolding to Game of Thrones, with the award winning show being well known for its political mindgames and notoriously brutal, wildly ambitious characters jockeying for influence. He also had a message for the politicians who have betrayed their respective parties and the message was simple: Shame on you.

When asked why DAP is still in support of Tun Mahatir, he said this is because Dr Mahathir has steadfastly rejected invitations for him and his party, Bersatu, to form a “backdoor government” with Umno and PAS and instead decided to resign, which his party views as a sign of integrity.
