Lenovo is known to push new and interesting designs for its products. The latest innovative design from the company may just change how we look at smartphones. According to a leaked demo video, Lenovo is close in releasing a new smartphone that folds before any other manufacturer.
The twitter post by @bang_gogo_ shows the long phone in the hands of the person behind the camera. What is interesting is the hinge mechanism of the phone – it looks similar to the hinge on the Surface Book 2. The screen is also live, as evidenced by the interactive widget changing size on screen.

Talking about the screen, it is a narrow and tall display. It makes perfect sense as a wider screen will look odd wrapped around your wrist. The user interface of the phone also looks to change when the phone is folded – a watch-like UI appears at the bottom of the screen facing the user. A concern is the very large chin on the unit, but it could just be part of the prototype.
The next new design trend is set to be foldable phones, as major manufacturers have previously announced intention to create foldable smartphones. Samsung, Huawei and Motorola are among the names shouting in the market space – it looks like Lenovo/Motorola may be the first to reach the finish line.
