K-Food Fair Kuala Lumpur 2023 Successfully Facilitates Business Collaborations Between Malaysia and Korea

Kuala Lumpur, 25 October 2023 – The K-Food Fair Kuala Lumpur 2023 for businesses (B2B) concluded with notable success, attracting the participation of over 90 local businesses in Malaysia.

The event witnessed significant outcomes, including 18 Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) and 5 contract signings between Malaysian and Korean companies, amounting to a total value of US$2,300,000.

Marking its 6th year, the K-Food Fair Kuala Lumpur served as a pivotal platform for local businesses to engage in productive networking, explore potential collaborations, and expand business prospects through B2B Business Matching with 30 participating K-Food exporters.

Initiated in 2018 with the aim of bridging the culinary and cultural gap between Malaysia and Korea, the K-Food Fair has progressively grown in scale and significance, becoming instrumental in introducing promising Korean products to the Malaysian market and fostering essential business and consumer connections between the two countries.

Hosted by the Korea Agro-Fisheries and Food Trade Corporation (aT) in collaboration with South Korea’s Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs, the event facilitated dynamic business matching sessions and product showcases, with the focus on promoting the bilateral relationship, particularly in the food and beverage (F&B) industry.

The fair provided an immersive experience for attendees, featuring diverse product samples for exploration and discussion.

The event successfully stimulated productive negotiations and agreements, with a specific emphasis on importing exclusive K-Food products tailored to the Malaysian market.

The promotion of Korean flavors and cultures in Malaysia is expected to further strengthen bilateral ties and contribute to the overall growth of the F&B sector in both countries.

The event also introduced the halal K-Beef or Hanwoo, which received positive reception from attendees, providing an opportunity for the 30 Korean companies present to expand their presence in the Malaysian market and establish partnerships for future growth and collaboration.
