Intel 8 Gen Devices Out In September With 145 Designs

Today two big event will be taking place at the same, one the once in nearly 100 years total eclipse visibly seen over North America and the other the launch of Intel’s 8th Generation processor. With just a few hours to go lets see what we will be anticipating from the chipset maker after the sun emerges from darkness.

Intel has hinted that the first range of the  8th Gen family, will be mobile processors targeted specifically for really thin and light notebooks and 2 in 1’s, as these are the drivers for consumer notebooks today. It is also first quad-core U series processors seen in a device and is said to bump up performance up to about 40% compared to previous editions and capable of increasing battery life to 10 hours.

The new architecture also allows for richer more immersive entertainment, including watching hours of 4K UHD local video playback on a single charge. Everything is faster with the new processor, editing photos, videos, and VR experience.

First wave of the new processor-powered devices featuring Core i5/i7 processors will come to market beginning in September, and consumers can expect more than 145 designs to choose from. Followed by the desktop versions coming early next year and then the processors for enterprise segment.

We will update this news as we gather the updates later today, in the mean time don’t forget to catch the live event today if you want to catch the unveiling of the new devices and a behind-the-scenes peek at a brand-new VR experience.
