Huawei P40 Leaks Emerge; Huawei’s Next Flagship Set To Have SEVEN Cameras But ZERO Google Apps

Its leaks season and with Samsung’s S20 series all set to launch next month, Huawei’s P series launch usually follows not long after. With all the Samsung leaks we’ve been seeing of late, it just wouldn’t be right if Huawei’s upcoming P40 series didn’t get any attention now would it? That being said, we have our best look at the Huawei P40 Pro yet!

New renders from Evan “Evleaks” Blass, who’s grown a rep for being rather credible with leaks, seem to indicate that this new trend of ginormous camera bumps is here to stay, as it looks like Huawei opted for a large rectangular camera module which houses not three, not four but five cameras, with one of it slated to be a periscope-style telephoto camera. Huawei’s P series has always been the flagship that pushes the boundaries of smartphone photography and the P30, with its 50x zoom, was every voyeurs dream come true.

On the front of the device, Huawei opted to go notchless this time around with a punch-hole set up that houses 2 selfie cameras instead, much like what the Samsung S10+ had. Other than that, it looks like Huawei will maintain the same button layout that it had on the P30 Pro, with the right side housing both the power and volume buttons while the left is.. left completely empty.

If these renders turn out to be true, the P40 Pro will bring with it a whopping seven cameras.. which is funny because it will come with a grand total of zero google apps. Are Huawei trying to overcompensate here? Perhaps. On a side note, I’m not sure how we should feel about this trend of just adding a new camera for every series upgrade. I mean, how many cameras are too many cameras? I would definitely say 7.. For sure. But hey that’s just me.

Given that Huawei’s previous P-series flagship launches occured in March, it’s only a matter of time before you hear official news about a launch date. Will it look anything like this render? Odds are, yes. What do you guys think though- Yay or nay? Let us know in the comments.
