HTC Launches the Squeezable U11 in Malaysia

After the announcement of the HTC U11 in a recent global launch in Taipei, Malaysia became on of the first countries to witness the availability of this new flagship smartphone from HTC. It is the first smartphone with revolutionary new squeeze interaction. Users just need to squeeze the sides of the phone to launch or run any app or action they have assigned to the smartphone. Squeezing is a new way of interactivity.

“Having been present in the industry for the past two decades and in conjunction with celebrating our 20th Anniversary this year, we at HTC have remained true to our roots to be an innovator in the smartphone industry that is able to meet the demands of customers today and tomorrow. HTC has constantly evolved throughout the years by marking many firsts in the industry which has now been widely adopted by other smartphone makers. Today, we have continued that vision to allow our consumers to get the most out of their smartphones by introducing revolutionary features such as the all-new HTC Edge Sense to give consumers the ultimate user-experience,” said Mr. Faisal Siddiqui, President, HTC South Asia.

The new HTC Sense Edge gives a whole new meaning of getting a grip. Thanks to eight sensors situated along the body, users just need to squeeze the sides to launch any action they have programmed into the smartphone. The HTC Sense Edge is also intelligent enough to sense how intense the squeeze is like, and different level of squeeze can be assigned to different actions such as launching the selfie camera or call up Google Assistant.

Specs wise the HTC U11 features a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, and for the Malaysian market,. 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. At the back is the 12-megapixel Ultrapixel camera with optical stabilization – which has won accolades from renowned photography site DXOMark. At the front sits a 16-megapixel selfie camera for better quality selfie. Both cameras feature Auto HDR mode for increased image quality and dynamic range.

Included in the box is the latest version of HTC USonic, which now combines Active Noise Cancellation with the ability to tune audio to every user’s unique hearing. By leveraging built-in microphones on the headset and USB-C data connectivity, USonic earbuds map the inner ear with an advanced sonar-like technology and then adapt the sound profile to each user’s preference. The HTC BoomSound speakers setup also gets an upgrade, with better bass and dynamic range. The tweeter now offers an acoustic chamber that allows the highs and mids to sound richer. While below, the woofer sports a new speaker and improved magnetic circuit design for louder, clearer and deeper bass tones.

A new feature in the video recording is available, thanks to the upgraded 3D microphone array. Now when one zooms into a subject while recording a video, the audio zooms in as well, amplifying their specific sounds. This is called Acoustic Focus.

The HTC U11 can be yours for only RM 3,099 (inclusive of GST), in Amazing Silver, Sapphire Blue and Brilliant Black. A fourth colour, Solar Red, will be available in the near future.
