If you’ve been on the internet or Twitter for the past two days, you’ve probably seen people holding a broom, or playing with it, or trying to make it stand up straight. And you might be wondering why? Why are people playing with brooms? Why suddenly? What is a broom?
Okay probably not that last one.
But I was wondering what was going on too, but it seems we’ve been had with another Twitter trend/challenge. This ‘challenge’ was dubbed the #BroomChallenge and consisted of people trying to balance brooms upright in to make it stand on its own due to a supposed gravitational pull that takes place only on February 10th. This all started from Twitter user @mikaiylaaaaa who posted a video with the caption:
“Okay so NASA said today was the only day a broom can stand up on its own because of the gravitational pull…I didn’t believe it at first but OMG!”
Which made me skeptical from the start. This sounds too specific for NASA to say or even bother talking about. Check out just some of the people posting about the #BroomChallenge:

So there it is kids, the theory that you could do this only on February 10th is a hoax. Why do people falling for these kinds of lies again? Like, haven’t you learnt anything from being on the internet?
