Hitachi Vantara: Explosive Data Growths Will Bring About New Innovations

While global economies are slowing down, some within the storage and data management space believe there’s a positive outlook; this is mostly due to the explosive data growths the world is experiencing.

Hitachi Vantara happens to be one of these market players. It believes the current explosive data growths will have some level of impact for innovation.

According to Hitachi Vantara, FY17 for most businesses has been soft and full of disruptions. These market movements – both good and bad – are already taking place in the financial services and public sectors. As is, both are undergoing changes that are encouraging positive growths amidst negative trends.

“Internally, Hitachi Vantara is seeing double digit growths and is looking to introduce new solutions for businesses to consider. This includes putting out scalable solutions and transformative platforms that will help the improve the processes that are now in place,” says Wee Kai Teck, Managing Director, Hitachi Vantara Malaysia.

Wee and KC Phua, Director, Data Solutions Group, Asia Pacific, Hitachi Vantara, believe there will be viable growth for both their brand and the industry as a whole. This is reflective of the climb the data management marketplace is experiencing at the end of 2017, going into Q1 2018.

“Explosive data growths will continue in 2018 and, likely, will accelerate. It will define the trends that will shape the next 12 months. Things like having more automation coming into play and having more data being moved into the Cloud; everything will work on centralised data management as systems and services move onto the Cloud,” adds Phua.

Beyond Cloud acceleration take-up, many organisations will look at scaling into next-gen capabilities. This includes adopting Internet of Things (IoT) systems and smart objects; even working with in-depth analytics that tap on meta-data within videos.

These and other concepts, like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and agile methodologies, will be driven via next-gen predictive data and Big Data analytics.

“All in all, we believe these upcoming developments will start affecting major business decisions. Likely, such concepts will become compliant driven as more connected devices come online,” Phua adds.

By the looks of it, the explosive data growths may open the way for the coming of a truly connected ecosystem. One that must rely on smart objects and more advanced IoT devices.
