Elon Musk really brought the sauce when he announced the Tesla Cybertruck. For the longest time, the eccentric CEO had been going on and on about how Tesla would be making an electric pick up, even going as far as to compare it to something you’d expect out of Blade Runner. It’s safe to say that the South African billionaire really delivered on that statement.
The cybertruck looks unlike anything we’ve ever seen and based on the hundreds of thousands of refundable $100 USD deposits that people have made for the vehicle, the futuristic pick up truck is a huge hit. With everyone having to wait until “late 2021” before the truck becomes available, Mattel is offering an alternative means of Cybertruck ownership in the form of a Hot Wheels-branded remote-controlled version of Tesla’s Cybertruck.
The Hot Wheels Cybertruck will come in two sizes: a 1:64 scale version that’ll cost $20 USD and a significantly bigger 1:10 scale version that will set you back a cool $400 USD. Both versions are classified as limited editions, with Mattel stating that it will only be available until they’re sold out. The RC cars are expected to start shipping in December 2020.
Based on the info on Mattel’s website, the 1:10 scale version is described as a “hobby grade-radio-controlled vehicle that is off-road and rugged terrain capable” and comically even comes with a “cracked window vinyl sticker”, which pokes fun at the now infamous mishap that happened during the actual trucks unveiling. The 1:64 scale version of the car also has two driving speeds but comprises of fewer moving parts. You can pre-order yours HERE now!
