While we wait for our streets to be filled with electric and self-driving cars, taking us from point a to point z with near zero carbon footprint, we can take the first step with ride service offered by Grab.
Together with GreenTech Malaysia, the ride hailing app is offering users for a small fee a chance to experience the Tesla Model S, a full electric vehicle that accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h.
The government agency will loan the vehicle to Grab, giving Malaysians a taste of EV and feasibility of such cars that is dubbed as the vehicles of the future. Beginning Oct 14 to Sunday, Oct 16, 2016 from 10am to 6pm, Grab users can book a ride in the Tesla Model S85 via the special icon for only RM15 per ride. One of the cars will be driven by celebrity DJ J.J. Fernandez.
To try out the new service, users can choose the Tesla Model S icon on their Grab app and book.
