Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past couple of weeks, you’re bound to have heard of the whole debacle between Huawei and The US government that has led to Google, along with a bunch of other US based companies cutting ties with the Chinese company.
While recent events have not exactly been going well for Huawei, things at the very least seem to be looking up. The company was relisted as a member of the SD association & WiFi Alliance earlier this week, which in turn seems to have led to probably the best news the Huawei is going to be getting in a while; Google relisting the Mate 20 Pro on the Android Q beta list.

This is honestly a big W for Huawei, in spite of the fact that they have their own contingency plan in the form of their HongMeng OS, the Chinese company still very much relies heavily on the Android ecosystem. While Huawei users can now breathe a sigh of relief, the relisting of Huawei devices on the list is probably due to the 90 day grace period Huawei attained after the US Commerce Department granted the company a temporary license to continue some of its activities with US companies.
Once that 90 day period is up, there’s no telling what’s going to happen. With news of Huawei phones already selling for dirt cheap on the secondary market, it’s a jungle out there and we’re very much intrigued to see how this whole thing plays out.
