Donald Trumps rhetoric of making America great again by insisting corporations to invest their fortunes within the country instead of looking outside, is gaining momentum with Apple committing to build more data centres, Foxconn setting up assembly line and now Google announcing over US$13 billion in investment in 2019.
Tax cuts and corporate incentives is bringing droves of overseas fund back into the country with more perks given to use them for investments. Google will make major expansions across 14 states creating tens of thousands of jobs, and enable the creation of more than 10,000 new construction jobs. With this new investment, the search giant will now have presence in 24 states, including data centers in 13 areas.
While Google rakes in billions from the rest of the planet its a well known fact the very little investments are made in the country it occupies. Southeast Asia generates a massive flow of advertising dollars for the company which is probably helping build those data centres but we have not heard of a huge job creation in Indonesia or Vietnam. And all this before MAGA.
