Google Brings Childish Gambino AR To Pixel Phones

Adding augmented reality images to real life photographs and videos adds another dimension to images, its even better is that AR image is someone popular. Google’s Playground app just does that with the inclusion of Childish Gambino who dances and poses for selfies with you.

The award winning celebrity has lend his addictive moves and infectious smile as a PlayMoji that Pixel phone users can interact with, he can be add him to photos or videos by pointing the camera and dropping him into the scene. Google worked closely with Childish Gambino and his music video choreographer, Sherrie Silver, to make the Playmoji’s dance moves rival those of Childish Gambino himself. By using ARCore’s motion tracking, light estimation, and ability to understand the real world, his Playmoji looks and feels lifelike, whether he’s in front of the camera performing his dance moves or in a selfie next to you.

He can react to facial expressions in real time due to the machine learning capability—smile or frown in selfie mode and see how he responds. The Childish Gambino Playmoji pack features unique moves that map to three different songs: “Redbone,” “Summertime Magic,” and “This is America.” Pixel users can start playing with them today using the camera on their Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.

In conjunction with the introduction Google invites people to participate in a dance challenge.
