Gmail Is Finally Getting A Dark Mode, But There’s A Twist

Dark Mode is a highly sought out feature, well, to me at least, because it’s easier on the eyes, it conserves battery, and it just looks cooler. Most of the Google suite of apps have been updating to have the feature, and at this point, most do. Android 10 has a system wide dark mode, but not all phones are getting the update, well not anytime soon anyway.

But now it seems that Gmail is confirmed to be getting dark mode sooner than you’d expect. Gmail is one of the last to receive it, with even Instagram beating them to the chase. But there’s a twist.

Gmail’s dark mode is pretty much going to be available for Android 10 and iOS 11 and above users only. No word on whether this will be just exclusive, or if it’s just who’s getting it first, but it doesn’t make sense of it’s the latter. Considering many Google apps already have dark mode, why bother locking the most used one?

It’s weird, but it’s at least an indication that we’ll be getting it soon. Hopefully.
