Garena has launched Flame Arena, a new in-game campaign inspired by the intensity of esports competition, set to coincide with the Free Fire World Series (FFWS) Global Finals 2025 in Jakarta. The campaign, which begins on 29 October, brings themed missions, collectibles, and refreshed gameplay experiences to players across Battle Royale and Clash Squad modes.
The FFWS Global Finals 2025 will run from 31 October to 15 November, featuring 18 of the world’s top Free Fire teams competing for a total prize pool of US$1.15 million.
According to Garena, the latest patch update rolling out alongside Flame Arena introduces a reworked loadout system. The new system replaces the original eight loadouts with four redesigned versions aimed at providing “fresh tactical depth” and “new strategies” for players in both major game modes.
In a statement, Garena said: “Flame Arena captures the excitement and energy of top-tier play, transporting players into a new in-game world that celebrates the spirit of competition.”
During the campaign period, players can expect several esports-inspired updates. In Battle Royale mode, each squad will carry a unique banner that fades upon elimination, while leading teams’ banners glow brighter as matches progress. The safe zone will also appear as a fiery ring closing in on players. In Clash Squad, team banners and themed visual effects will decorate spawn points and stores.
Exclusive collectibles tied to the FFWS 2025 will also be available, including the Molten Fury and Lava Fury bundles, along with the Fury Hyperbook featuring an AC80 weapon skin, emote, and Gloo Wall. Players can also earn free items such as the Flame Edge Bundle, Flame Arena Gloo Wall, and team jerseys of the 18 global finalists.
A highlight of the campaign is the Flame Arena Mission Event, which allows players to complete challenges to upgrade their own Player Card. Reaching top ranks will unlock exclusive rewards, including the Flame Edge Bundle. For the first time, professional esports athletes will appear on Free Fire’s login screen, featuring Vietnam’s WAG.Xbor, Indonesia’s Evos.Rasyah, Brazil’s Fluxo.Bops, and Thailand’s BRU.Wassana.
Garena is also introducing an FFWS Fantasy event, letting fans collect digital cards of pro players and earn rewards based on real-life tournament performance. Physical collectible cards of fan-favourite players will be released during the finals period.
The FFWS Global Finals will begin with the Knockout Stage from 31 October to 9 November, followed by the Grand Finals on 14–15 November. The Clash Squad final will offer a US$150,000 prize pool, while the Battle Royale final carries US$1 million.
Fans can watch the tournament live across YouTube, Facebook, and TikTok, with commentaries available in multiple languages including English and Bahasa Malay.
