Yes, you heard it right. These life size R2-D2s are actually mini fridges. They don’t have moving heads or flashing lights, but they’re the next best thing as your supergalactic companion while you wait for the next installation of the STAR WARS movie franchise to come out in December 2015.
Even cooler than that, the R2-D2 mini fridge can bring your drink to you so that you don’t have to get up from your sofa as you watch a marathon of STAR WARS films. We get the feeling fans are not going to use it as a mini-fridge anyway.
This remote-controlled R2-D2 will cost you a whopping US$9,000 and that’s before the delivery fee to send it from Japan. The awesome gadget is manufactured by Haier Asia and is now up for pre-order.
Unfortunately, it seems like you need a Japanese address to get one although that shouldn’t be too hard to get around to.
