FUJIFILM Malaysia has unveiled the FUJINON XF16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR II lens, an upgraded version of its popular large-aperture standard zoom lens. Available from the end of November 2024, the new lens is approximately 37% lighter than its predecessor, enhancing mobility while improving imaging performance.

The XF16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR II features a bright F2.8 aperture across the entire zoom range, from 16mm to 55mm, making it ideal for a variety of photography genres, including nature, landscape, and portraits. It incorporates a new design that enhances its optical performance, offering high resolution and smooth bokeh. Weighing only 410g, it is a lightweight, portable option for both photography and videography.
Notably, the lens introduces the ‘Aperture Click Switch’, allowing users to smoothly adjust the aperture for video recording. This feature ensures a seamless transition in brightness, making video shoots more natural. The lens also boasts enhanced durability with weather-resistant construction and fluorine coating for better resistance to water and smudges.
Fujifilm’s new lens also benefits from high-speed, high-precision autofocus, achieving focus in as fast as 0.02 seconds, and a minimum focusing distance of 0.3m, offering close-up photography with a maximum magnification of 0.21x.
This new lens is designed to meet the growing demand for a versatile, compact zoom lens that excels in both still photography and video production.
