
Good news, PS4 owners! As a special Easter weekend treat, Blizzard released a free version of multiplayer classic Overwatch and it can be downloaded for free from the PlayStation Store, although there are a few conditions. The game is only available till April 23 and afterwards the trial will end. You do not need a PlayStation Plus subscription to download the game but you need to be a member to access online multiplayer.
The Overwatch free trial is also available on Xbox One and PC. If you decide to purchase the full game, all of your progress will carry over. “Join us for a FREE trial of Overwatch beginning April 16!” reads a Blizzard post. “You’ll have access to all of the maps and heroes in a variety of game modes. “Any experience or items you earn during this free trial will transfer over if you decide to purchase Overwatch just be sure you purchase the game on the same Sony Entertainment Network account you played with during this free trial.”
Blizzard has just launched a limited event for Overwatch titled Storm Rising which is the latest Archives event that explores a key moment in Overwatch history. The co-op mission sees players travel to Havana in an attempt to capture Talon associate Maximilien.You can also play previous Archive missions, including the Retribution quest, which sees the secretive Blackwatch team attempt to capture a high-ranking member of the Talon organisation.There’s also Tracer’s first mission from the Archives Uprising event in 2017.Needless to say, the Overwatch Storm Rising event also features a selection of new skins and rewards, which are available in limited-time Loot Boxes.
