Analog watch makers are not taking the fight lying down with regards smartwatches, Tag Heuer already unveiled its own time piece earlier this year and Fossil has now moved into the next generation devices. With the new activity tracker Q Motion it comes complete with sleep tracking, water resistance and smart tap technology including a slimmer Android Wear watches Q Marshal and Q Wander; and a smarter analog watch, which infuses technology into a traditional timepiece. These devices will become available to customers between early summer and fall 2016.

“We love the digital influence on our world today! It opens up a more direct dialogue with our customers, allowing us to design products and update technology in a much more impactful way,” said Jill Elliott, chief creative officer. “Customers want to be connected to the world around them, and are eager to access information about daily activities, filtered content and their social networks. The expanded Fossil Q line brings creativity, curiosity and connectivity through smarter watches and trackers that enhance their personal style.”

Style and Technology

Often not, the two hardly mixes- Fossil’s newest display smartwatches—Q Wander and Q Marshal just does that with their touchscreen displays, refined steel and classic leather accents the finish product is more of watch that’s smart. The cases arrive in 44mm and 46mm in diameter respectively.

  • Q Wander features a soft curving, multi-finish case with artfully sculpted wire lugs, making it both beautiful and functional. The interchangeable genuine leather strap provides the style and comfort customers have come to expect from a watch.
  • Q Marshal features a rugged case along with design updates like a striking navy blue plated case paired with vintage-inspired leather straps.

Both smartwatches are powered by Android Wear and with no exposed pins or connectors, charging both smartwatches on the new slim wireless charger is a breeze. Compatible with Android smartphones and iPhones. Both touchscreen display smartwatches will be available later this year and start at $275

Affordable Trackers

Fossils Q Motion tracker band  is affordably priced tracker that can also send notifications of calls, texts and activity thanks to haptic vibrations and multi-color LED lights. It features smart tap technology— way of interacting with a simple tap plays your favorite music, finds your phone or take a perfect selfie.

Additionally, it’s water resistant for up to 50 meters, and features a new cylinder design and interchangeable straps. Q Motion will be available this summer starting at $95.

Smart  Analogs

Who says watches should only be used for telling time? Fossil’s smart analog watch alerts you to incoming calls as well as notifications with just the turn of the watch hands. It also tracks everything from steps to calories, sleep, automatic time zone updates, a second time zone (seen in the sub-eye on the analog dial), and connects to an Android smartphone or iPhone device via Bluetooth.

These watches were showcased during the BaselWorld watch fair in Switzerland during the Fossil 2016 Global Exposition.
