First Look: Samsung Galaxy Note8

The moment we have all been waiting for is finally here. After having a disastrous 2016, Samsung has since come forward with its mistake on the previous model and promises to do right to its customers. As the Galaxy Note 7 was an explosive turn of events to say the least, Samsung ensures the Galaxy Note8 has gone through every test possible to make it ready for the market.

We are lucky enough to get our hands on the Midnight Black edition of the Galaxy Note8 and we must say, it is a sight to behold.

Although it eerily resembles the Galaxy S8+, the Galaxy Note8 is of course a device on its own (and rightfully so with its RM3,999 price tag)! Its near bezel-less display screen with a super slim forehead and chin makes it great for watching movies and videos. Known as the Infinity Display, that is definitely something we’re looking forward to testing out. After having it for only an hour or two, the colour reproduction of the Galaxy Note8 is pretty amazing, all thanks to its Super AMOLED display screen.

However, one such flaw that does cause some annoyance is its curved display screen, which wraps itself just at the edge of the side. Although this doesn’t hamper the performance in any way, it does make holding the phone in your hand a bit annoying as it will leave the screen with smudged with fingerprints. Even its glass back panel is easily prone to fingerprint smudging so its best to invest in a good casing.

When handling a smartphone that costs more than most fresh graduates these days, it is best to take extra precaution. Be sure to look out for our review that will be coming out in the next few days! (Also, this writer would like to point out that he was one of the lucky few to grab a picture with the gorgeous Song Ji-Hyo. It has nothing to do with the Galaxy Note8, it’s just a shameless self-plug).
