FIFA 20 Won’t Have Juventus As PES Announces First Hands On Experience Of PES 2020 For Asia

Are the days of FIFA’s dominance over?

It looks like Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer is making its way up in the world. The game always had cult status among fans, with some even swearing that the graphics are better than EA’s FIFA franchise. Whether you’re a fan of FIFA or PES, you have to agree that PES is really starting to spoil FIFA’s party.

EA sports tagline is “It’s in the game”. You know what’s not in the game though? Juventus. Konami has somehow managed to pull off tying down Juventus to an EXCLUSIVE partnership. The company says the partnership covers exclusive use of Juve’s “team name, crest, and official kits”–as well as its Allianz Stadium–within “console football video games.” . Meaning that FIFA will no longer be able to use the Juventus name in their game.

EA in response to this has come out and issued a statement saying “Piemonte Calcio will be a new playable team in FIFA 20 with a custom badge and kit throughout Kick-Off, Career Mode, and Volta. Piemonte Calcio will use real-world, authentic players in FIFA 20 and FIFA 20 Ultimate Team. Piemonte Calcio players’ Chemistry within FIFA 20 Ultimate Team is unaffected by these changes.”

That’s right. PES hustled so hard that FIFA have no choice but to call Juventus, one of the biggest clubs in the world, Piemonte Calcio. This by far marks PES’s most ambitious partnership, having already tied up Manchester United, Arsenal, Barcelona and Bayern Munich as well. Those deals are not exclusive though.

If you’re wondering when you’ll be able to get your hands on PES 2020, the game itself will be out in September but the first hands on experience will be available for Asian fans at the 2019 International Champions Cup in Singapore.

As an official sponsor of the International Champions Cup (ICC), KONAMI will exhibit playable demo for eFootball PES 2020, scheduled to be released on September 10th, in the OCBC Square near Singapore National Stadium. This is the first time Asian fans can enjoy the first hands-on experience of the series since the US E3 exhibition in June.
