Facebook needs no introduction, because it simply is the biggest social media platform on the planet. Basically everyone you know has it, has had it, or will have it. At this point, it’s just a normal thing. But now they’re planting their seeds for world domination, and wants you to know it. Facebook is planning to add “From Facebook” suffixes to their other apps, for some strange reason. This includes WhatsApp, which will become “WhatsApp From Facebook” and Instagram which will be “Instagram From Facebook”.

On why, a Facebook spokesperson came out and said

“We want to be clearer about the products and services that are a part of Facebook.”

At the end of the day, it just makes everything more cumbersome. There wasn’t really a need for this, because we already knew these apps are from Facebook. It’s a weird move, but I guess Mark Zuckerburg won’t be content until you KNOW that he’s the one bringing you these services.

The name change will at first only affect for the Apple App Store, and the Google Play Store. So that means you’ll be seeing the new names when you’re downloading the apps from the digital storefronts. Reportedly, the apps on your device will keep it’s original names. For now anyway.

But think about it though. You’re just Whatsapping a friend and you’ll go, “Hey man, did you get my WhatsApp, From Facebook?”

Yeah, doesn’t roll off the tongue, does it?
