Dream Job? Local Mattress Company Is Paying People RM3000 To Sleep 8 Hours A Day

July 2, 2020

Remember last year when NASA was offering US$19,000 to lie in bed for two months? I sure as hell do. Do you know how badly I wanted to apply for that? Getting paid 19 grand to do something I’d HAPPILY do for free? Haha, jokes on you NASA! But alas, the joke was in fact on me seeing as there were a tonne of caveats to the job.

That being said, Sonno is offering Malaysians the chance of a lifetime! The local mattress company has a dream job lined up and pretty much all you have to do is sleep 8 hours a day for 100 days! The best part is, at the end of the 100 days, you walk away with a cool RM3000. Yup, you’re basically getting paid RM1000 a month to sleep 8 hours a day for 3 months.

According to the job posting on the Sonno site, the brand is looking for a “Sleep Executive” who can “instantly doze off into your own private underground chamber and mute the world’s noise”. The job posting explains that Sonno is on the hunt for a “hibernating snoozer” to sleep on their mattress. That being said, the brand claims that this is a mission “for you to help more people to sleep better.”

That’s right. This is as close to the NASA experiment as you’re going to get, friends.

Of course, nothing in life is really that easy now is it? There are some responsibilities that come with the job. For one, you’ll have to write a report about your sleeping experience with Sonno. On top of that, you’ll have to track your sweet dreams and record your journey to slumberland in the form of a 30 second video twice a week.. for 3 months lol.

So yeah it’s basically a content creator job but hey, the gist of it is to sleep.. which isn’t half bad really. Of course you also get to keep the bed and pillow so thats a plus, right? Seeing as this is essentially a content creator job, being proficient in social media is a definite plus point.

So if you’re one of them “micro-influencers” that refuse to let anyone forget about it or if you’ve been posting content every damn day because you know, of course all your followers want to see is pictures of your face from ten different angles then this is the job for you.

The official start date of the “mission” is on the 1st of September 2020 but applications for the job close on the 31st of July so if you’re not social media savvy just yet, I suggest you give all your followers one more reason to get off the platform by trying your very hardest to create “compelling content” and maybe Sonno will be impressed.

More info on the job HERE.
