Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2) the western-based action-adventure prequel to Red Dead Redemption (RDR) which was released in 2010, is set to be launched on October 26th. Produced by Rockstar Games which brought successful titles like Grand Theft Auto and Max Payne, the prequel will allow gamers to play as Arthur Morgan an outlaw and a member of the Dutch Van der Linde gang. Characters from the first RDR will also make an appearance, namely John Marston and Dutch Van der Linde, who were the protagonist and antagonist from the previous title.

Set in an open-world environment, players will be able to explore on their own, without the confines of following a pre-determined quest path. Being open world, you can also inspect nearly all items in the world. And while the game can be played in both first and third-person perspective, one of the changes brought to the sequel is that the game can be played wholly in first-person view.
Several other changes from the first game to the sequel, you can now break enemy weapons and your own guns can degrade and jam after extended use. The Honor system, retained from the first game, has been enhanced by affecting your kill-cams.
Another interesting change, you can gain and lose weight during the course of gameplay.
The game is playable in both single and multi-player modes, with multi-player providing an extended play from the initial 60-hours gameplay in single mode.
When asked about online experience, design director Imran Sarwar answered “Red Dead Redemption 2 is an absolutely massive story-based game that we hope people will be lost in for a long time and we want people to experience everything that world has to offer before we build on that with the Online experience”
