Having broadband service for the home is given, just like electricity and water, internet connection is now a utility. Just like if the family size is bigger, more consumption is expected and the more appliances in a home, naturally usage goes up.

So with Digi’s new home broadband offering of 6GB , 20GB and 50GB internet quota of RM30 (prepaid), RM60 (prepaid & postpaid) and RM100 (postpaid) respectively, does the offer feel compelling enough to signup?

For starters, the telco is giving 19 free streaming channels like YouTube, Dailymotion and some of Astro’s and Media Prima’s radio stations which do not eat up on the quota (why radio stations we don’t know). If you’re looking for the real streams of content like iflix, Netflix, Astro on the Go and the likes, they will require 5Gb and 10GB from the offering set aside and is not available for the 6GB plan. Early birds do get a freebie in the form of a 30-day access to 11 premium channels on Astro on the Go for free and 2 months full access to iflix (worth RM20).

Weighing in at RM5 per 1GB borders on not-so-great range and what will irk most users is the stability of the network. For customers to commit for a fix monthly plan they would be comfortable if they know they can stream Narcos without any lag or drop in connection anywhere.
