
Mobile operators have been releasing the fourth quarter results which sums up their annual performance. Key indicators on the company’s performance. On the part of Digi, the telco has announced its numbers and they point to heavy investment in areas of network expansion and next generation internet services. One of the focus is on accelerating the expansion of 4G LTE network to reach out more areas, as last to arrive to the race, Digi is striving to capture lost time.
During the briefing, the Telenor owned company reported it had 12.1 million subscribers of which total internet subscribers stood at 7.5 million. A rise duly attributed to the mobile internet bundled on its latest digital services which also saw a positive increase of revenue by 11.5%.
Albern Murty, CEO of Digi stated “We have kept focused on delivering a strong network and quality customer experience across the board. In particular, we placed equal emphasis on expanding coverage and access to our network, and on the consistency and quality of our services.” He went on stating “With customers in mind, we diversified and improved our range of innovative digital services, offering them worry-free data access and giving them more good reasons to use the internet.”
On expansion costs, an additional RM288 million was invested in the 4th quarter of 2015, bringing the cumulative amount invested to a whopping RM904 million. The network provider is continuing plans to supports its aggressive 4G LTE and 4G LTE-A network deployment nationwide and will continue to grow its high speed wireless broadband services in 2016.
