The refarming of spectrum by MCMC will bear fruit with Digi being the first who benefitted for the exercise will be rolling out the 900Mhz spectrum network come July this year.

Currently on the 1800 and 2600 MHz, Digi has been lagging in the indoor service and also suffering from network outreach due to the the higher frequency bandwidth the operator has. But now with 900Mhz, the telco will be able to address those woes and improve its 4G services in buildings, basements and reach out further. Digi has been witnessing erosion of customer base since mid last year and could see a return with the new spectrum.
