Didn’t Manage To Pre-Order The PS5? Sony Promises More Consoles Will Be Available In “Next Few Days”

Sony DID NOT think through the pre order system for its long awaited PS5 consoles. The Japanese company surprised everyone with a September 17th pre order date and while it may have seemed that they had it all figured out, it was almost as if the decision was made in the spur of the moment, given how many people didn’t manage to secure their consoles.

Pre orders at many retailers actually started right as the PS5 showcase event ended and many a gamer was caught off guard as they missed out on the most hyped console of the year. This essentially means that if you did manage to pull off pre ordering the device, you’re one of the lucky few. Given how massive of a fail the whole thing was, Sony has come out and issued an apology.

The company noted starts off its tweet rather frankly, nothing that the entire process could’ve been a lot smoother before promising that more consoles will be available for pre-order in the “next few days”, with the onus on retailers to share more details. Sony ends the tweet by ensuring that more PS5s will be coming “through the end of the year.”

So if you missed out on your console, fret not. You can expect a restock soon. That being said though, how insane was the hype for the PS5? Microsoft’s pre order system for the Xbox Series X and S was a lot more well planned but perhaps that was down to the fact that the demand was just a lot lower. My point here is that while this is a problem for Sony, it’s surely a problem they wouldn’t mind having.
