Dell Fires Up New PowerEdge Range

Dell introduces the PowerEdge 13th Generation Servers for Malaysia recently, showing off the fact that it is, by far, the most advance and easy-to-manage portfolio of PowerEdge servers. Or so it claims. The server is specifically designed to help customers around the world address and optimise the evolving spectrum of application and workload requirements.

The Dell PowerEdge portfolio starts out with five form-factors across blade, rack and tower servers to provide customers with a choice on how they address industry trends. This includes Cloud Computing, mobility, Big Data, and software-defined services/demands. The first of the new Dell PowerEdge servers includes the PowerEdge R730xd, R730, and R630 rack servers, the M630 blade server, and the T630 tower server, which are built with the latest Xeon processor E5-2600 v3 product family. The new PowerEdge servers are made to increase operational efficiency and level of flexibility at any scale for the most demanding applications and environments. This is further enhanced when combined with Dell’s end-to-end portfolio of enterprise infrastructure offerings, software and services.

With cost effective 1.8in SATA flash drives, the Dell PowerEdge R630 can deliver customers up to 2.4 times the input/output operations per second (IOPS) in the same amount of space as 2.5-inch SSDs.
With the PowerEdge R730xd, Dell also provides up to 100TB of storage for workloads such as Microsoft Exchange, where it also delivers up to a 50 percent increase in mailbox size over previous generation servers.
