D&D is moving from paper to screen. Popular tabletop RPG Dungeons & Dragons is getting an official digital toolset to be used with the fifth edition rules.
Named D&D Beyond, the multi-platform app will provide a rules compendium, character builder, digital character sheets and more, populated with official D&D content. Wizards of the Coast aims to allow easier game management for players and Dungeon Masters, whether rookie or long time veterans with tools accessible on any digital devices.
The toolset is developed in partnership with Curse – which is now a company under Twitch. While the toolset is still in beta, you can sign up for the beta now.
“D&D Beyond speaks to the way gamers are able to blend digital tools with the fun of storytelling around the table with your friends,” said Nathan Stewart, Senior Director of Dungeons & Dragons. “These tools represent a way forward for D&D, and we’re excited to get them into the hands of players soon!”
