Yes, Malaysia’s 4G mobile Internet with voice service provider, together with K-12 IT Literacy Materials provider, Eduspec, SRJKC Choong Wen’s Parent Teacher Association and the School Board of Directors opens Malaysia’s first Chrome Lab. The lab will be fully equipped with Yes 4G Chromebook units donated by YTL Communications Sdn. Bhd and powred by Yes 4G mobile internet.
“At YTL, we are committed to transforming education in Malaysia by enabling our students to have access to the best the world has to offer. With so much information and so many resources available today through the internet, there are huge opportunities for learning. We need to ensure that our students are not left out and that they are able to tap into these resources to make learning more engaging,” says Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr. Yeoh Tiong Lay, Group Executive Chairman of YTL.
The aim of Chrome Lab is to give students and teachers access to global resources. This will help facilitate learning beyond classroom. Each of the Chromebook has a built-in 4G chip and run Chrome operating system. The reason Chomebook was chosen is because of the ease of maintenance making it a cost-effective solution for school to incorporate cloud-based learning.
