At an exclusive invitation from CES, PC.com was the only tech publication from Malaysia to attend and witness some of the industries top echelons give insightful keynote addresses from the planets largest tech show. CES Unveiled Las Vegas, finally opened its doors to the world and we were in fact blown away, like every year, on the technological opportunities and possibilities that are presented year after year.

Organised yearly by the Consumer Technology Association (previously Consumer Electronics Association), CES this time around boasts over 2.4 nsf os exhibition space, 150,000 attendees (45,000 of them international) from over 150 countries – and is anticipated to be the much talked about showcase of technology at its very best.
Sharing his thoughts with the members of the media prior to the official media unveil, D. Shawn DuBravac, Chief Economist and Senior Director of Research, CTA, shares some interesting tech trends to watch out in 2016. Building from his key themes revealed in the CTA Digital Destiny last year, he believes three key elements are at play this year, and they are connectivity, proliferation of digital devices and “sensor”-isation technology.
This brings us to the trends CTA foresees for 2016: Ambient sensing; Aggregated Learning; and A maturing of nascent technologies. What does this mean product-wise? Loads.
CES this time around is definitely every technie, gamer and geek’s wet dream. Even those who aren’t all that crazy about tech can’t help but be excited by the scores of technologies being displayed at this industry shaping showcase.
Why is that you may ask? He believes the technology dialogue of years ago have changed – it is no longer what is possible; it is now what is more meaningful technology.
“The building blocks we have now is already a given; now we see what it means, the use case scenarios – that is the change in the technology dialogue. Now we are seeing advances more apparent in the daily lives of the people.”

Yes. This is what CES 2016 is all about – the latest in innovations ranging from smart homes, robotics, automotive, 3D printing, scores of wearable tech – like first wearable cuff with smart wireless Bluetooth earbuds on your wrist (Helix by Ashley Cole Inc), world’s first lifestyle camera (Boud PIC), advanced technology for hair loss (HairMax), and scores more.

Let pictures paint a thousand words … but do watch out for more news on CES on www.liveatpc.com.my and the upcoming issue of the magazine. You will be as excited as we are here in CES Las Vegas.
