A company that had been very prominent during our school days is about to expand its presence. Casio Malaysia Sdn Bhd, which started operations since January of this year as a new subsidiary of Casio Computer Co. Ltd., recently organised its opening ceremony cum media launch event.

Casio’s introduction to Malaysia follows launches in Singapore and Jakarta as part of the brand’s rapid expansion throughout the Southeast Asia region. Malaysia, being a new growth market for Casio, enables the brand to introduce a range of innovative products, increase the number of local retailers and implement better after-sales service locally.

In conjunction with the opening ceremony, Casio Malaysia will be introducing a series of watches and premium timepieces like the new G-SHOCK GPW-1000, the OCEANUS OCW-G1000, and the EDIFICE EQB-500. Apart from that, Casio will also introduce the new EXILIM series of digital cameras such as the EXILIM EX-FR10, the EXLIM EX-TR50, and the EXILIM EX-MR1.

Other than the introduction of new products, Casio has also announced their sponsorship of a Privia PX-350 electronic keyboard to The National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM). This sponsorship is part of Casio’s ongoing commitment to “creativity and contribution.” It expresses the company’s promise to contribute to society by offering original, useful
products that only Casio can. Casio is also looking to promote the adoption of scientific calculators in classrooms, as well as the use of projectors that feature a laser-LED light source that does not contain mercury in an effort to contribute to the region’s education sector.

“The corporate creed “Creativity & Contribution” has birthed many products with innovative functions that have assisted people in their daily lives. It has also brought joy to people and helped in creating new cultures. We are all very proud of where we are today and excited about where we are headed,” says Hiroyuki Sezai, Managing Director of Casio Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. .
