Canon Sponsors Visit Pahang 2017 Tourism Campaign

If you happen to head over to any popular tourism spots in Pahang, you will need to take note that this year is Visit Pahang year. You can smirk and brush this off as another visit year, but did you know the last time the state had a tourism campaign was in 1994, 23 years ago!

The state is blessed with tropical rain forest that’s over millions of years, flora and fauna found nowhere else in the world, and one of the last reserves in the country where we can find wild animals like the sun bear, Malayan tiger and the clouded leopard in its natural habitat. There are also various other recreation places to visit when in Pahang, like Taman Negara with its rapids, trekking up Titiwangsa and going up Genting for a cool holiday. Making the year even more memorable, Tourism Pahang has ropes in strategic partner Canon as their official imaging service provider. The year long campaign, will see the state agency use cameras, printers, large format printers and multi-function devices for their promotional activities, hence able to reduce their overall expenses by printing items in house.

“Last year, tourist arrivals to Pahang, comprising domestic and international visitors, was 12.8 million and the total tourist expenses was 8 billion. This year, we are targeting 15 million tourist arrivals and an estimated tourist expenses of 10 billion,” said Dato Sri’ Haji Mohd Sharkar bin Haji Shamsudin, Chairman of Tourism and State Culture. The state has also planned 60 tourism related events for the year.
