Canon Marketing Malaysia introduced two new digital compact cameras, the PowerShot G5 X Mark II and PowerShot G7 X Mark III successors to the G5 X and G7 X Mark II respectively. Canon’s flagship compact models continue with the series’ heritage, featuring a combination of DSLR speed, quality and lightweight handling.
The PowerShot G5 X Mark II and PowerShot G7 X Mark III boast a 20.1MP, 1-inch stacked CMOS sensor, a wide aperture of f/1.8- f/2.8 with an optical zoom of 5X (PowerShot G5 X Mark II) and 4.2x (PowerShot G7 X Mark III) and Canon’s DIGIC 8 processor in their compact bodies to offer DSLR-like creative expression in both stills and 4K videos.

Powered by Canon’s DIGIC 8 Processor, the key highlight of the two cameras is its 1-inch stacked CMOS sensor, which is larger than sensors typically found in compact cameras. This enhances the cameras’ performance with faster autofocus to produce clear shots in almost any light.
It comes with a newly designed f/1.8- 2.8 lens with 24-120mm focal range which provides a 5x zoom (the PowerShot G7 X Mark III has 24-100mm focal range, giving 4.2x zoom), the PowerShot G5 X Mark II is poised to handle anything from shooting portraits to macro close-ups of 0.47x magnification and is well suited for creating shallow depth of field effects.
