There’s a phenomena occurring in the home printing segment that should get many consumers excited, cost of owning these machines is getting lower and at the same time maintaining them has also come down substantially. Making purchasing a colour printer is no longer an issue when it comes of cost of ownership.

Canon has been embarking aggressively in ensuring customers don’t feel the pain whenever they print in colour, even so now with the Pixma E3170 which can deliver 4000 monochrome prints and 180 colour pages.

The latest model joins the already prominent E series range that promises to be ink efficient, the Pixma E3170 belongs to the All In One category with wireless and mobile features. Users can also monitor the printers ink status with Canon app while using their mobile devices to print.

For document output, the printer is capable of printing at 7.7 images per minute (ipm) when printing in black and white, and 4.0 ipm when printing in colour. Images can be printed with borderless settings for 4R, 5×5 and 5R sizes, making it versatile for general use as well photo printing.
